Group Captain Dudley Honor recently passed away at the age of 94. He was a Battle of Britain fighter pilot on Hurricanes with 145 Squadron before being posted to Crete with 274 Squadron, also Hurricanes. One day he attacked the German airfield at Maleme. After shooting down two Ju-52′s he was chased by Luftwaffe fighters and shot down into the sea. He swam to shore and was rescued a week later by an RAF flying boat. He was later Wing Commander with 258 Squadron in the western desert. He had at least nine aerial victories. Awards include the DFC. Check out his other exciting exploits on Google!!
