Oberst Hajo Herrmann was one of the Luftaffe’s boldest and most innovative air tacticians during WWII. He was a founder member of the Condor Legion and was later with KG-4, flying He-111′s. By 1940 he was commander of the 7th Staffel of KG-4, and led many attacks against the Allied arctic convoys while he was based in Norway. He was later transferred to Italy, where he flew against Greece and Malta. He became a member of the General Staff and was a confidant of both Hitler and Goering. By 1944 he was Inspector General of night fighters. He has over 300 operations missions and holds the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.
