Consisting of a pencil drawing of Hans-Ekkehard Bob overflying a British raillway station, having just dropped a bomb on a military installlation, plus a photograph of artist Robert Bailey and Hans-Ekkehard Bob signing in Germany, plus Bob’s KNIGHT’S CROSS (replica) and the ORIGINAL signature of Hans-Ekkehard Bob.
As Staffelkapitan of 9./JG54 in 1940, flying Me 109′s, Bob flew some of the first ‘jabo’ missions. These involved dropping bombs from the Me 109 fighter, something that Hitler insisted upon, against the wishes of the Luftwaffe. By November 1940, Bob had 19 recorded victories and was awarded the Knight’s Cross. He was also involved in the Battle of Britain and Operation Bararossa (invasion of Russia). By 1942 he had 50 victories and promoted to Hauptmann. Late war, he was piloting the Me 262 jet fighter in Jv-44. By war’s end he had SIXTY victories.
