- Sub Lt. Richard H. Kendall D.S.O. was a Royal Navy diver and member of the X-craft which attack Tirpitz.
- Terje Jacobsen was a courageous young man of the Norwegian underground who reported on the Tirpitz to London via secret radio.
- F.Lt. Harry Haxby was an RAF flyer who attacked the Tirpitz.
- Midshipman Alfred Zuba was a crewman aboard Tirpitz when she was attacked by RAF Lancasters. He was trapped inside the hull, but was rescued after she capsized.
- Oberleutnant Kurt Schulze flew Me-109′s and commanded 1/JG-51 in Norway, when he was ordered to defend Tirpitz against the RAF attack.
- Flight Leader Tony Iveson, D.F.C. was on Lancasters and flew three missions against Tirpitz, including the one which sank her.
