Consisting of a pencil drawing of 1st. Lt. Chuck Weaver’s (no name) P-51 Mustang, a pencil drawing of the 362nd Squadron, 357th. Fighter Group officers: Captain Paul Henslee, (XO), and pilots Chuck Weaver and Kit Carson. Also included are Army Air Force Wings and FOUR original signatures of pilots of the 357th. Mustang Fighter Group, including Weaver.

Signatures

  • 1st. Lt. Charles ‘Chuck’ Weaver. He originally took over ‘Passion Wagon’ from Arval Robison, but in 1945 was assigned a no-name Mustang with a reclining nude on the nose. Chuck finished the war with 8 victories, 1 probable and 1 damaged. He had a total of 73 missions and became the squadron’s Operations Officer. D.F.C. with Cluster and various other decorations.
  • 1st. Lt. Bill Dunlop had 4 victories in his Mustang. Decorations include D.F.C. and Purple Heart.
  • 1st. Lt. Harve Mace flew 69 combat missions. He downed 3 Me 109′s while flying bomber escort.
  • 1st. Lt. Raymond ‘Ted’ Conlin has 71 combat missions to his credit. D.F.C. and other decorations

This ensemble is ONE OF A KIND and is sure to appeal to collectors of the 357th Fighter Group, otherwise known as the ‘Yoxford Boys.’  They had the second most air victories (595) in the 8th. Air Force, had the most enemy aircraft destroyed in air combat in one day, (55.5), most enemy jet aircraft destroyed in air combat (18.5), was the fastest scoring fighter group during the last year of the war, and had 42 aces!
