Leutnant Heinrich Freiherr von Podewils flew 109′s and 190′s in Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, and ‘Home Defence’ of the Reich. Victories include a Hurricane, B-17 and a Beaufighter. In 1945 he commanded 8./JG-5 in Norway.

Feldwebel Oscar Boesch volunteered for SturmStaffel 1, a specially formed unit for attacking heavy bombers in daylight. On his first mission he downed a B-17. He flew the Fw-190 for most of his combat career in WWII, ending with 18 confirmed victories and 120 combat sorties.

Unteroffizier Herbert Dosh flew the Fw-190 in combat. By 1944 he was with the ‘Home Defence’ of the Reich with 11/JG-1. He was transferred to France after D-Day. He baled out several times, once after being attacked by a Spitfire. He also flew in ‘Operation Bodenplatte.’
