Consisting of a pencil drawing of Lt Hal Jackson‘s Corsair aboard the USS INTREPID on a pitching deck, lining up to strike the world’s largest battleship, the YAMATO. April 7, 1945 in the South China Sea. Lt Jackson was the last man to lead a bombing pass on the battleship. She sank a few moments later after his bomb struck the bow.
This ensemble also has the US Navy Wings, Lt Hal Jackson’s ORIGINAL signature and his military biography. Sadly, Mr. Jackson passed away about six months ago. But his name lives on in the print IMPERIAL SACRIFICE and this one-of-a-kind ensemble. For serious collectors.
